Tabby cats love to eat. The famous cat cartoon Garfield is a
plump feline who is always looking for something to eat. This is quite true of
most tabbies, making those easy automatic feeders pet owners love so much a
little difficult to have around. You need to be sure your cat does not overeat.
It is best to feed your tabby two or three times a day in small portions rather
than one large feeding once a day. And try to keep those feedings around the same time each day.
Along with not overfeeding your cat, you must give them the right cat food. Tabby cats are typically carnivorous and need to be fed high-quality protein-rich cat food. The food should also contain adequate vitamins and minerals to keep your feline healthy. Basically, they need to be fed a balanced diet. Consult your vet about your specific cat's needs.
Along with proper food, tabby cats need to be given plenty of
fresh, clean water to drink. Tabbies will not drink water that is dirty or has a
bad smell or taste. Be sure to change the water in your cat’s bowl every
day to ensure that they stay hydrated.
